Obituary for Agnesa Verh
In loving memory of Agnesa Verh (maiden name Agnesa Martinuk) who passed away peacefully on January 5, 2018 at age 83. She was born in Odessa, Ukraine on April 6, 1934. Agnesa was an orphan at age 6, along with her younger brother, Alik Martinuk. She married Sasha Verh and moved to Israel in 1973 with her husband, daughter (Ilana Kochanov; maiden name Verh) and son (Vitaly Verch). She and her husband became owners of a jewelry and watch store. She was widowed shortly after. In 1982, Agnesa moved to Canada with her children, where she later became a grandmother to 5 grandchildren and a great-grandmother to 8 great-grandchildren. Agnesa volunteered assisting veterans and disabled children and she overcame breast cancer in the early 2000’s.
She was a wonderful and resilient woman. She was supportive of her children and grandchildren no matter what and left her beautiful mark with each of us. She shaped our lives in ways that words cannot describe. She taught us the meaning of family, unconditional love and selflessness. She gave all of herself to those that she loved and now it is her turn to rest. We can no longer hear her voice but she will never ever leave our hearts and our memories, we will cherish them forever. We love you so much and know that you are looking down on us from eternal paradise. Until the day that we meet again…
