Obituary for Vincent Pinkney
Vincent Alexander Pinkney entered into his rightful and peaceful place on Wednesday January 31st, 2018.
Vincent was born on the 3rd day of April in the year 1943 to the late Ina Rebecca Hupstead and Egbert Pinkney in Shirehampton, Manchester, Jamaica. Vincent is the brother of Kenneth Pinkney, Brenton Williams, the late Caswell Barnett, the late Patrick Hupstead and the late Babs Joy Tomlinson. Vincent has three sons and 6 daughters; Daniel, Robert, Dennis, Erica, Lois (aka Cute), Kelli, Thalia, Yolanda and the late Hyacinth. He is blessed with 25 grand-children and 11 great-grandchildren. Vincent grew up in Shirehampton and was well known in his community, and surrounding parish. Vincent married and moved to Canada in 1991. He worked at the Lear Corporation until he retired in 2009. Vincent resided in the Jane and Finch area for over 15 years where he developed many new and lasting friendships and relationships. Vincent was a man of few words but when he spoke, you could not help but listen. His path in life took him too many places and the stories of his life made you smile. He was a charming man with wit, charisma and grace and indulged in all life's pleasures that brought him joy. His time with us left many great memories in which to reflect on but most importantly the warmth of his presence and wanting to share his time, his life and his generosity with his friends, his community and his loved ones. Vincent battled through many years of illness and overcame cancer more than once. His family and closest friends ensured his last days were his most comfortable. His peaceful presence settled humbly that early afternoon as he was surrounded by grandsons. The family wishes to thank all of those who cared for and provided for Vincent during his greatest times of need, his doctors, the nurses, his closest friends, his neighbours, his community. God bless you all.
